2023 Shelter Improvement
Opens Feb 27 2023 03:00 PM (PST)
Deadline Mar 23 2023 11:59 PM (PDT)
$2,500,000.00
Description

Through the 2023 Shelter Improvement Request for Proposals (RFP), made possible with support from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and the Home For Good Funders Collaborative, United Way of Greater Los Angeles (UWGLA) will invest $2.5M to support year-round interim housing shelter sites in Los Angeles County that serve people experiencing homelessness with one-time physical site upgrades. These upgrades will integrate trauma-informed design principles in order to create increasingly welcoming and dignified spaces that not only encourage unhoused individuals to come inside, but to also promote their engagement and connection to shelter and housing services. As a result of these investments and the collective work of the shelter providers selected, we aim to increase bed utilization at existing shelters and reduce time from street to home.
